Researchers are trying to understand why some men want to father hundreds of children as sperm donors. Large-scale research into the motives of so-called mass donors is scarce, says KU Leuven researcher Astrid Indekeu. Scientists therefore mainly rely on interviews with donors. Men often cite passing on their own genes as a motive.
