The smart cameras on two roads into Heuvelland are operational after years of waiting. They monitor speed and also identify vehicles registered as stolen or wanted. The municipality wants to use the technology to combat cross-border crime, which has been causing problems there for some time. Checks will now take place automatically on both access roads.
