Donald Trump withdraws ICE director nominee without explanation

Donald Trump withdrew Lance Schroyer’s nomination to lead ICE, the federal agency responsible for immigration enforcement in the United States, on Thursday. Schroyer, a former Oklahoma police officer, was expected to head an agency central to the policy of mass arrests and deportations of migrants in irregular status. The president gave no explanation for the decision.
