Kurmis to be kept out of UCC, says West Bengal CM; promises to withdraw old cases

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has said the Kurmi community will be kept outside the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He also promised that the government would withdraw old cases involving community members. Adhikari said these commitments would be fulfilled ahead of the state Assembly elections. The statements were made as the election approaches.
