VUB must save €24m in coming years: “25 layoffs already, more to come”

Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) must save €24 million over the next five years. According to ACOD union, support staff are bearing the brunt of the impact; 25 people have been dismissed so far. Academics are also reportedly leaving because they oppose the cuts. Rector Jan Danckaert is to explain how the university will proceed.
