Study examines LGBTQI+ people's sense of safety in Brussels

Doctoral researcher Charlotte van Vessem is investigating how safe LGBTQI+ people feel in Brussels' public spaces and on public transport. Their experiences show that, in their view, safety is not solely linked to lighting, infrastructure or other physical features. The groups present and the way people interact with one another are also important to their sense of safety.
