NHAI, Forest Department efforts provide Pichavaram another 25 hectares of mangroves

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Forest Department have created an additional 25 hectares of mangroves at Pichavaram, Tamil Nadu. NHAI sources said the plantation was intended to compensate for 15 square metres of mangroves destroyed during road-widening work in Marakkanam. The project links highway construction with restoration efforts.
