Global water reserves shrinking

Global freshwater reserves are under increasing pressure, according to the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) annual report. Rivers are carrying less water, glaciers are shrinking, and groundwater levels are falling in many regions. Water scientist Marjolein Vanoppen points out that climate change is storing more water in the atmosphere and oceans instead of on land.
