Antwerp welcomes 1,000th river cruise

Antwerp is welcoming its 1,000th river cruise of the year at Het Steen today, a record for the city. Alderman for Tourism Koen Kennis (N-VA) calls the milestone exceptional: the city has never before reached 1,000 river cruises in a single year. Low water levels on the Rhine forced many ships to adjust their routes and seek new destinations.
