Mark van Bommel calls son Ruben’s foul ‘attempted murder’

The Dutch top-flight clash between Ajax and PSV boiled over late after Ruben van Bommel, 22, committed a serious foul on Aaron Bouwman, 19. Players from both teams then brawled. Ruben is the son of national team coach Mark van Bommel, 49. ESPN analyst Hugo Borst called the challenge “an assassination attempt”.
