The questions people actually ask
Are trains running in Belgium today?
Trains are running, with disruption on some lines. 12 disruptions are announced, and 10% of departures at the stations we sample are running six minutes or more late.
Is there a train strike in Belgium today?
A strike shows up here as announced disruption on most or all lines at once, and it is listed on our strikes and disruptions page with the union action behind it. National rail strikes in Belgium are normally announced several days ahead and run from 22:00 the evening before to 22:00 on the strike day.
How late is my train?
This page samples departures at Brussels-Central, Brussels-Midi, Antwerp, Ghent, Liège, Charleroi, Leuven and Bruges. For one specific train, use the SNCB app or the station board — we deliberately do not try to be a journey planner.
Can I get money back for a delayed train in Belgium?
SNCB compensates from 60 minutes of delay: 50% of the single fare, or 25% if you had a season ticket, claimed within a set window. Repeated shorter delays on a season ticket can also qualify. Claims go to SNCB, not to us.
What counts as delayed on this page?
Six minutes or more. That is the threshold SNCB uses in its own punctuality reporting, so the number here can be compared with theirs rather than arguing with them.
If it is a strike
A national action closes most of the network rather than delaying it, and
it is announced days ahead. Those are on our
strikes and disruptions page, together with bus, tram, school and flight
action and reports from readers on the ground. If a strike overlaps a
public holiday, the holiday timetable applies underneath it.

journey, always check SNCB.
