Fire in Antwerp Diamond District: 5 residents hospitalized after smoke inhalation

A fierce overnight fire on Vestingstraat in Antwerp’s Diamond District caused extensive smoke and water damage. Five residents were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation; their condition is not serious. The building, near Antwerp Central Station, has been temporarily declared uninhabitable. Due to the damage, the residents cannot return home for now.
