Child abuse survivor says perpetrators, too, should be heard

Melanie de Roose says she was abused from age six to fourteen. The survivor, who speaks in the documentary ‘Het bestaat’, calls for attention to both victims and perpetrators of child abuse. In her view, society must learn to recognize warning signs earlier and stop viewing perpetrators solely as monsters. She argues that both groups should be listened to.
