French PM suspends school classes for internal consultations

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu told the French parliament that secondary schools will cancel classes this week for internal discussions. Education Minister Édouard Geffray said the period is intended for “internal democracy” within the institutions. In Lens, a police officer has been charged after a 15-year-old lost a hand when a stun grenade exploded. The school measure applies across France.
