President promulgates LAHDC Regulation, paving way for hill council polls

The President has promulgated the LAHDC Regulation, clearing the way for hill council elections across all eight districts of Ladakh. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena called the decision historic, saying the measure was implemented in a record six days. The regulation also enables creation of a council in the newly created Sankoo district.
