Russian men rush to flee before the army can draft them

Thousands of Russian men are fleeing the country for fear of being called up to fight in Ukraine. At the Georgian border, the number of travellers rose to 20,000 a day, three times the previous figure. The Kremlin denies a new mobilisation. At the same time, electronic call-ups, recruitment quotas and street raids point to a system ready for new recruitment. The possible size of the intake and its significance on the battlefield are central questions.
