Recusal request rejected: Nicolas Ullens' assize trial can resume

The assize trial of Nicolas Ullens de Schooten can resume on November 4. The Court of Cassation rejected his defense’s recusal request, allowing the current presiding judge and associate judges to continue handling the case. Ullens was found guilty of murder; his sentence has yet to be determined. A decision on that will follow later.
