Muziekmozaïek lays off all six staff after losing all cultural subsidies

The Gooik-based nonprofit Muziekmozaïek is laying off all six employees after losing €800,000 in cultural subsidies next year. Flemish Culture Minister Caroline Gennez defended the decision, calling the organisation’s funding application thoroughly inadequate. The organisation runs the Gooikoorts festival and, until last year, organised Jazz in’t Park in Ghent. Gooikoorts will continue for now.
