Death linked to Shamonda virus in France

The World Health Organization (WHO) does not expect a large-scale outbreak of Shamonda virus, despite a death in France. An immunocompromised patient died at a hospital in Lyon at the beginning of the month. It is the first documented human death associated with the virus. The WHO considers the case to appear isolated.
