VRT dropped ‘Dag Sinterklaas’ over Soot Pete; Frans Van der Aa lost role

VRT stopped rerunning the two ‘Dag Sinterklaas’ series, recorded in 1992 and 1993. By 2018, the programmes had become part of Flemish television heritage. Frans Van der Aa played Black Pete for 25 years and lost the role when the broadcaster chose new actors following the introduction of Soot Pete.
