Fireworks banned at New Year in Wetteren, Laarne and Wichelen

The municipalities of Wetteren, Laarne and Wichelen are extending their fireworks ban: fireworks may no longer be set off during the New Year celebrations. Until now, the ban was in force, but setting off fireworks on New Year’s Day was allowed. The ban will be included in the police bylaw; because of the planned police merger, the municipalities may have to amend it again soon, says Wetteren Mayor De Geyter.
