Care home residents temporarily evacuated after two mobility scooters catch fire

Around 9 p.m., firefighters from the Oost-Limburg emergency zone responded to Vinkenhof residential care centre in Houthalen-Helchteren, where two mobility scooters parked outside had caught fire. Smoke spread through the ventilation system to rooms on the first, second and third floors. As a result, about 20 residents had to be temporarily evacuated from the building.
