Halen now also bans fireworks on New Year's Eve

Starting this year, Halen is also banning the setting off of fireworks at midnight on New Year's Eve. The municipality has had a general fireworks ban for some time, but is now scrapping the exception for New Year's Eve. Mayor Erik Van Roelen (CD&V plus) says the decision came in response to growing pressure from other Limburg municipalities that also introduced a ban.
