Work starts on new radar tower at De Wallen in Burcht

Work has begun along the Scheldt towpath in Burcht on a new radar tower with a viewing platform for visitors. The radar will record ships’ positions and speeds, helping improve shipping safety. Several other radars are already operating in the area. They collect separate data which together provide a complete picture of shipping traffic.
