EU proposes Frontex deport people before they reach Europe

The European Commission proposes expanding Frontex’s powers so the agency can organise the return of people before they arrive in EU territory. The plan calls for more staff and stronger intervention capacity. Frontex would also play a central role in returns, including between two third countries without passing through the EU.
