Herman Schueremans, 72, becomes Keerbergen’s fifth honorary citizen

Herman Schueremans, the driving force behind Rock Werchter, was honored as an honorary citizen in Keerbergen on Tuesday evening. Mayor Jens Eggers presented him with the title at community center Den Bussel, in the presence of family, friends and guests. Schueremans is the municipality’s fifth honorary citizen and called the recognition close to home heartwarming. The tribute highlighted his contribution to Belgian cultural history.
