Ghent lands European cash for satellite imagery project to support climate policy

Ghent has secured a share of more than €7 million in European funding for a project using satellite imagery to guide climate policy. The city will map potential sites for solar panels, green roofs and heat pumps, while identifying urban heat islands and air-pollution clusters. Amsterdam, Athens and Bordeaux are partnering with Ghent.
