Police arrest three suspects who sold sport horses to abattoirs

Federal Judicial Police in East Flanders arrested three suspects after raids in Sint-Gillis-Waas, Kruisem and Zaventem. Investigators suspect the group forged horse passports and repeatedly moved horses trained for competitive equestrian disciplines between Belgium and other countries. The animals were allegedly presented and sold as slaughter horses, generating substantially higher profits for those involved.
