Charlotte Verkeyn gives up portfolios but remains alderman in Ostend

Charlotte Verkeyn (N-VA) is losing most of her portfolios in Ostend following complaints about her treatment of city staff. She will retain only the Economy portfolio and become the eighth alderman. Maxim Donck (N-VA) will succeed her as first alderman, while Mayor John Crombez (Vooruit Plus) will temporarily take over the Port portfolio. The Ostend aldermen’s college decided this on Monday at city hall.
