‘Deceptive discounts’ on energy contracts banned

From 1 October, energy suppliers in Belgium will be barred from offering what regulators call “deceptive discounts” on contracts. They will also be prohibited from changing contract terms during a month while retaining the same contract name. The new rules have been confirmed by CREG, Belgium’s federal energy regulator, and take effect nationwide.
