Berlare also goes to court over Flemish social housing requirement

The municipality of Berlare is taking legal action against the Flemish requirement to build 190 additional social rental homes. Flanders plans to build a total of 56,000 additional social homes by 2042. Berlare disputes the allocation formula, saying it disadvantages municipalities that have already made significant efforts when the homes are allocated.
