Nobel Peace Prize goes to human rights commissioner Navi Pillay

South African lawyer and human rights activist Navanethem ‘Navi’ Pillay, 85, has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The award recognizes her commitment to peace and international law. Pillay served as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014 and sat on the International Criminal Court and the Rwanda Tribunal. She also worked on Israel and Palestine.
