China reveals advanced nuclear sub was used to test-fire missile

China has revealed that an advanced nuclear-powered submarine was used to test-fire a missile, marking a notable change from its previously publicised launches. Before July, China had conducted only two publicly known intercontinental ballistic missile tests in the Pacific. Both earlier tests were carried out from land, rather than from a submarine.
