The more AI advances, the more we must cultivate our humanity

A former student solved, through a query to ChatGPT, a mathematical problem the author had been working on for months. The experience leads him to see advances in artificial intelligence as heralding a profound transformation in our relationship with work, knowledge and power. He therefore calls on us to preserve our humanity.
