New platform at De Liereman offers shelter to hedgehogs and bats

A six-metre-high hunting stand has been put into use in the De Liereman nature reserve in Oud-Turnhout. The structure is intended to help hunters manage the growing wild boar population. At the same time, it provides nesting and shelter sites for hedgehogs, bats and other species. Volunteers and school pupils helped build the platform, which links agriculture, hunting and nature.
